The Klöntalersee is situated in the Klöntal valley in the canton of Glarus. The natural lake lies at an altitude of 848 metres above sea level above the village of Glarus. With a length of about five kilometres and an average width of more than 200 metres, it is one of the largest lakes in Glarus.
